Season 2, Episode 14: BLAME IT ON THE ALCOHOL

Principle Figgins tells Will how too many students have been showing up to school drunk. He asks that next week during Alcohol awareness week, the glee club perform a song showing how bad drinking is. While Rachel is trying to write a song for Regionals, Puck says that while her Dads are away for the weekend, she should throw a party. She says no as she wants to be responsible. She then performs her written song for Finn which is about her headband. Finn says the song needs to be emotional. This makes Rachel realise she needs experience in life. She decides to throw a party. At the party which is only for the glee club members and Kurt and Blaine, she only allows everybody to have two drinks. Everybody gets bored and decides to leave. Puck convinces Rachel to let him break into her Dad's liquor cabinet. She agrees and everybody stays now that the party is in drunken action. While drunk, Rachel tries to get back with Finn but he says she just sounds desperate. Rachel gets everybody to play spin the bottle. Rachel ends up kissing Blaine which becomes romantic much to Kurt's jealousy. Blaine and Rachel perform "Don't You Want Me." The next morning, Burt discovers that Blaine and Kurt slept in the same bed much to his shock. On Monday, all of the kids have a huge hangover. They use it to do a powerful performance of "Blame It (On The Alcohol)." Which Will loves but thinks it glorifies drinking. Quinn calls Will a hypocrite for saying not to drink when he does. The glee club all think that it's pointless when teenagers aren't going to stop drinking.Coach Beiste takes Will to a bar where they sing "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." When they go home drunk, Will wonders why drinking is such a problem. They were responsible and didn't drive or drink too much. Coach Beiste says you can't stop people from drinking you can just make sure they do it responsibly. After she leaves, Will calls Emma and leaves a dirty drunken message saying he still loves her. Rachel calls Blaine and asks him out on a date. He accepts. Kurt gets mad at him. Blaine says he isn't so sure now and maybe he isn't gay. Kurt says it was just because they were drunk. Blaine goes on the date with Rachel anyway and they have a good time but don't kiss. Kurt helps Rachel to clean up from the party and asks her about it. She says she is going to kiss him and show Kurt that her and Blaine are meant for each other. Burt talks to Kurt about what he saw. Kurt explains that they were clothed the whole time and the only reason Blaine stayed over was because he was too drunk to drive. When the time comes for the assembly performance, Rachel gives every one in the glee club a drink of all the stuff left over from the party mixed together. They then perform "Tik Tok." As the song closes, Britney vomits on Rachel. Followed by Santana throwing up as well. The next day, Will discovers the message he sent to Emma accidental went to Sue. Sue plays it over the PA system to the whole school, embarrassing him. The glee club all have to go see Principle Figgins. To their surprise they are congratulated. Figgins believed the vomit was all special effects and the performance made the students not want to drink. In glee club Will makes the kids promise to never drink before a performance again. he gets them to sign a pledge saying they wont drink until after Nationals. He says if they succeed he will be buying alcohol to celebrate. Kurt watches as Rachel kisses Blaine sober. This makes Blaine realise he is in fact gay much to Kurt's joy. Instead of being upset about it, Rachel uses the experience to write her song. So in the end it works out for everybody.

  1. I thought this was a great episode and it had an even better message. I am a total Geek and haven’t missed a single episode. Thanks to DISH Network I can bring my employee subscription with me and watch all my favorite episodes or even stream them live on my iPhone through my 3G plan, wherever I am. It’s almost as awesome as Glee. The cast is remarkably talented and versatile; keep up the good work, Glee.
