Season 1, Episode 20: THEARTRICALITY

Figgins tells Tina she must get rid of the goth look. He believes that it has a connection to vampires. He seems to think vampires are real after seeing the obsession of the Twilight movies. Finn's mother announces to Finn that Burt has asked them to move in with Burt and Kurt. Finn is not okay with it. Tina is depressed about wearing ordinary clothes and does not feel like herself. Rachel did research and found out Vocal Adrenalin are doing Lady GaGa and suggests they do the same. Will gives them an assignment to wear GaGa's famous costumes and sing one of her songs. Rachel, Mercedes and Quinn sneak into see Vocal Adrenalin. Once they finish performing Shelby sings "Funny Girl." Rachel instantly recognises the voice and when the song finishes she announces to Shelby that she is her daughter. Shelby and Rachel talk and Shelby tells Rachel she regrets giving her up. Rachel tells a story from her child hood and Shelby rushes off after saying she will call. Finn and the other boys (besides Kurt) don't want to do Lady GaGa and think the girls always get what they want. Will allows them to do KISS instead. Puck tells Quinn he wants the baby to be named Jackie Daniels. She says no and that she wont be naming it because she is giving it up. Kurt and Tina arrive to school in their GaGa costumes. The football players try to pick a fight with him. Mercedes and Quinn tell everybody about Shelby and Rachel. Rachel assures the glee club that she wont be leaving them for Vocal Adrenalin. She shows them her costume made from stuffed animals but they others are not impressed. The girls and Kurt perform "Bad Romance." Shelby helps Rachel to make a better Lady GaGa costume. She shows up to glee club rehearsal wearing it. She is proud that her mother made it. They boys walk in with their KISS costumes and perform "Shout It Out Loud." Kurt runs into the football players again. Finn wonders why Kurt doesn't try to blend in. Kurt tries to remove Finns KISS makeup but Finn smacks his hand away. Kurt tells Finn to grow up. Will meets with Shelby and tells her that Rachel seems more excited about the reunion then Shelby is. Shelby says she has always wanted a daughter but Rachel doesn't need a mother. Will encourages Shelby to tell Rachel how she feels. Kurt makes over his bedroom that Finn is moving in to. Finn and Kurt have an argument and Finn accidentally calls him a Fag. Burt walks in and defends Kurt. He tells Finn to get out of his house even though it may cost him Carol. Kurt and his father hug. Finn tries to apologise to Kurt but Kurt doesn't want to talk about it. Puck gets up in front of the glee club and talks about how his father was never around. He sings "Beth" to Quinn and asks if the baby could be named Beth and if he can be there for the birth. Quinn cries as she smiles and nods. Shelby and Rachel meet up. Rachel knows that their mother daughter relationship is going to end. They both think that any family relationship they would share would be confusing. They both agree on being friends and hug. They then sing s slow Broadway version of "Poker Face." Tina pretends to be a vampire and scares Principle Figgins into letting her wear her goth clothes. She returns to her normal self. Kurt is cornered by football players about to be beaten up. Finn shows up in a Lady GaGa outfit to defend him. He is followed by the rest of New Directions in their costumes. Instead of taking them all on, the footballers leave. The club celebrates their victory.

NEXT EPISODE: Funk- Problems arise when Jesse returns to Vocal Adrenalin which crushes the glee clubs hopes of winning Regionals. Will brings their spirit up by getting them to get Funky with music. Things get a little too funky when Finn and Puck get a job at Sheets & Things working for Terri and what has happened that have made Brittany and Santana so upset.
